Members of the Levica party are placed under house arrest

-

The two members of the Levica party who were arrested, Zdravo Saveski and Vladmimir Kunoski, this afternoon in court were put under house arrest, and forced to surrender their passports to the court.

The court confirmed that the judge from the preliminary procedure sentenced Saveski and Kunoski to eight days under house arrest, for their alleged participation in the protests.

Zdravko Saveski, of theLevica Party this morning was called for questioning, and then was taken into police custody at Prolet Police Station , for allegedly participating in protests against President Gjorge Ivanov’s decision to grant mass pardons.

This afternoon, the MOI said that Saveski was being charged because during the protest on April 13, when a crowd of protesters entered the Public Office of President Gjorge Ivanov, he allegedly burnt pictures of the President, and completely vandalized his offices, it is believed that Saveski was involved with the crown.

The Levica party held a press conference today and said the arrest of Saveski has left Levica party members open for persecution and is an attempt to frighten and intimidate people who participate and support the mass protests of the civil initiative “I protest”.
