AJM was silent when SDSM and Zaev published unconfirmed conversations of other journalists who, according to SDSM, are not close to the opposition, and reacted to the announcement of conversations close to SDSM that are not made public, unlike other journalists, reads the statement of the Macedonian Association of Journalists (MAJ) on, as they say, “the events connected with publishing private telephone conversations by SDSM and their president Zoran Zaev, which also include private conversations of journalists and other people.”
– Conversations published by SDSM are used for party purposes, i.e. to raise party rating of SDSM to the detriment of law and basic human rights. Macedonian Association of Journalists condemns such partisan manipulation of the public, that is put into operation of the party by breaking the law – reads the statement of MAJ, one of the two journalists’ associations in the country.
MAJ believes that publication of other people’s private telephone conversations without a certificate of authenticity and the consent of the participants mentioned in the conversation is a crime, as well as mass violation of human rights.
