The National Hydrometeorological Service today announced a very low temperature, and three regions of the country will be in yellow, i.e. warning alert.
Ohrid – Prespa, Polog – Poreche and Osogovo – Maleshevo are declared as critical regions, and the temperature in those parts of the country will range from – 10 to – 17 degrees Celsius, especially in the morning.
It is expected low temperatures to be prevailing in these regions until the end of the week.
The citizens of the country, especially of the cities of Tetovo, Gostivar, Debar, Ohrid, Struga, Resen, Berovo, etc., should comply with the general recommendations for protection against low temperature, such as wearing warm clothing and appropriate winter footwear, regularly drinking hot beverages, avoiding longer stay outdoors unless necessary, and carefully walking on slippery surfaces.
In accordance with the recommendations, especially careful should be vulnerable categories of the population, such as the elderly and chronically ill people, who, despite the respect of the general recommendations, should regularly undergo their prescribed therapy.
