Macron: I strongly support the agreement with Greece

The President of France, Emmanuel Macron, has issued a video message with which he addressed the citizens of Macedonia concerning the referendum. In the message, Macron has marked the Prespa Agreement as the “heart” of our future, stressing that it was waited upon for 27 years and that it is the result of the courage of the both countries’ leaders.

“Our countries have fostered diplomatic relations for the last 25 years. 25 years of common past and linked destinies among our nations whose roots are deeply embedded throughout the centuries.”

In this regard, many things have been done over the last few years, however, a major step forward was made on June the 17th 2018.

The step forward was done with the courage of your leaders, between your country and Greece, which put an end to the 27-year name dispute.

The so-called “Prespa Agreement” of 17th of June 2018, allows prosperity and preparing for the future. The referendum question from the 30th of September will refer to this agreement” stressed Macron and said that he supports the agreement “completely and strongly.”

Macrons said that he is “decisively For and he strongly believes that this agreement is good” as he said, “for you, the whole region and Europe.”
