Macedonia is celebrating today the 76th anniversary of the start of the anti-fascist uprising and the NOB. The uprising began on the 11th of October 1941 with the attack on the Bulgarian police barracks, and on the next day, on the 12th of October, the uprising spread in Kumanovo with the formation of the Kumanovo unit.

With these actions, Macedonia engaged as part of the anti-fascist coalition, and after the 4 year World War, with the decisions voted at the ASNOM’s first session, it realized the centuries-long dream of founding a Macedonian state.

The central celebration will take place at noon in front of the Monument of the Liberators of Skopje in the yard of the Government. Government and parliamentary delegations will place flowers in front of the monuments in Prilep and Kumanovo.
