Kotzias invites Dimitrov to take part in meeting with the Visegrad Group

Foreign Minister Nikola Dimitrov, at the invitation of his Greek counterpart, Nikos Kotzias, will take part in a second meeting, in an extended composition of foreign ministers of the Balkans and the Visegrad Group in the so-called “Visegrad-4 Plus Balkan-4 Plus” format, which will take place on May 10 and 11, in Sunni, near Athens, informs the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA).

“In addition to the standard format from last year in Budapest, where the foreign ministers of the four EU member states from the Balkans took part – Greece, Bulgaria, Croatia and Romania, plus Slovenia, for the first time, candidate countries from the region such as Albania, Macedonia, Serbia and Montenegro, plus Bosnia and Herzegovina have been invited to participate. The countries of the Visegrad Group will be represented by the foreign ministers of Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovakia”, said the statement

The main topic at the meeting is titled “The Future of Europe and the Enlargement of the European Union”, where prominent academics and experts are expected to take part.

Also, ministers will have the opportunity to address the issue of energy security and its importance for regional and inter-regional cooperation.

Foreign Minister Nikola Dimitrov is expected to hold several bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the meeting.
