Kotzias deny that Germany are considering to exclude Greece from Schengen-Zone

-

Yesterday in Berlin the Greek and German Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias and Frank-Walter Steinmeier discussed the situation on the refugee crisis. The Greek Foreign Minister in Berlin has denied the information about a temporary exclusion from the EU’s passport-free Schengen zone, and the idea to close the Macedonian border so refugees remain stranded in Greece, claiming that his contact with Steinmeier showed that Germany was not thinking in that direction.
Speaking to the Greek state agency APE, Kotzias stated from Berlin that the German side is not considering any Slovenian proposal to strengthen controls on the Macedonian-Greek border.
He indirectly criticized that some of the countries that proposed raising walls and fences, so as not to allow the flow of refugees from Greece to reach other western European countries, noting that some of the newer EU members seem to have not yet fully accepted or adopted European values.
