Brussels welcomed the progress made yesterday at the negotiations held at the EU residence in Pržino, however, they have called on all the parties to find a solution to the remaining issue.
“We welcome that parties made progress during their discussions yesterday and we encourage them to urgently reach agreement on the remaining issue, which can be found with the necessary good will on all sides”, stated Maja Kocijancic, spokesperson for the European Commission.
Last night’s marathon talks between representatives of the political parties ended without a final agreement. The EU Ambassador Aivo Orav, after the meeting said that an agreement had not been reached due to one issue, he gave no clue to what that issue is regarding.
Unofficially it is known that the parties cannot come to an agreement regarding the powers of the Minister of Interior in the technocratic government.
For now, it still unknown when negotiations will continue. The parties need to coordinate their positions and opinions before sitting down at the negotiating table.
