The aim of the leaders’ meeting in Vienna is not to draft a new agreement, nut to ensure that leaders will continue will the implementation of the existing Przhino Agreement said Maja Kocijancic.
“The purpose of the meeting is to discuss ways to resolve the crisis and ensure leaders will continue with the implementation of the Przhino Agreement and reform priorities to show willingness to return the country on the Euro-Atlantic pat” stressed Kocijancic.
The spokeswoman said that the invitations were sent on behalf of Commissioner Hahn and the three MEPs who are committed to resolving this issue with a meeting leaders of the Macedonian political parties, scheduled for Friday in Vienna.
When asked why the meeting was scheduled in Vienna, and not as before in Brussels or Skopje, Kocijanicic replied shortly: “And why not Vienna?”
The Leaders’ meeting comes after a new political crisis which has recently developed that occurred after President Gjorge Ivanov decided to halt all legal proceedings against politicians and their associates, as well as on the SEC’s decision to hold a vote without the consent of its own President Aleksander Cicakovski and members of the SDSM .
