Tomorrow, the Criminal Court in Skopje will come to a decision regarding the Special Prosecutor’s Office request to remand businessman Sead Kočan into custody, who is the prime suspect in the “Trust” case.

The SPO confirmed that the hearing has been scheduled for tomorrow at 10:00 am, and like the previous hearing, prosecutors from the SPO will be present as well as Kočan’s lawyers, where they will submit evidence and their arguments “for” or “against” Kočan’s detainment.

The Supreme Court returned the case for a retrial at the Basic Court Skopje 1, and the Criminal Council of the court yesterday promptly implemented the ruling and will start the case from the beginning, right to the judge for a preliminary hearing.

The Helsinki Committee for Human Rights in Macedonia, pointed out that this is the first time that any court in Macedonia has ruled that a defendant who is meant to be remanded into custody, be released until the ruling of the appeal.

Otherwise, Sead Kočan, after being on the run for two months, is now back in the country and according to various media reports, he was hospitalized and admitted to the Clinic for Cardiology in Skopje.
