Karadžovski was not “romantically tied” to the authorities and is asking for bigger salaries for the judges

-

During today’s press conference, the President of the Judicial Council, Zoran Karadzovski announced that in 2018, the Council will take more concrete measures for improving the working conditions for the judges since, as he complained, the salaries in the Macedonian judiciary are the lowest in the whole of Europe.

When asked whether he or the other members of the Council have a credibility to talk about reforms and an independent judiciary system, taking into account the criticism issued by the international community, Karadzovski said that he personally has a credibility because the criticism expressed by the international community refer to the period until 2014 i.e. before his appointment as the President of the Judicial Council.

-An all-encompassing analysis is needed for the judges that have a problem with their integrity and have violated the law – said Karadzovski who denied that he has a “romantic relationship with the authorities.”

Regarding the reforms in the judiciary, he said that according to him the Special Public Prosecution should as soon as possible become part of the regular Public Prosecution as in 2019, as is now planned in the strategy concerning the judiciary, will be too late.
