Kambovski: We are faced with a total flattening between State and party

-

The Macedonian Academy of Arts and Sciences (MANU) held a yearly conference at the Urania House in Ohrid titled “Macedonia – How to Move Forward?” The conference was presided by the president of MANU Vlado Kambovski and academic Blazhe Ristovski.

Kambovski and Ristevski are following carefully current events in the country and based on that gave recommendations for the future steps Macedonia needs to take to bridge the crises. Commenting on the current political crisis the academicians were unanimous that it can deepen unless there is a timely and effective intervention.

-The Przhino Agreement signed on June 2 is after all one step towards solving the crisis. The Agreement was necessary and its implementationby both sides is more than welcome. If they don’t respect it there may be social turbulence, civic unrest, revolt and solving the problems in the streets, which we don’t wish to happen as a nation- said Kambovski.

Both of them said they will make efforts to engage the Academy and conduct scientific analysis, interpretations, models, panels, debates and joint efforts from all instances to minimize the consequences of the crisis. Kambovski announced a Document that will contain a visit for Macedonia in the next decades, on the 50th anniversary of the MANU. The Document will be a summary of the series of scientific panels and debates in the Academy and by other institutions of higher learning from the country and abroad.

-The time of cosmetic fix-ups has passed. What is necessary is a dismantling of the sistem in order to allow for the thorough rule of law. We are facing a complete flattening between the state and the party in power, ideological functions, systemic corruption, imperial character by the parties, fragrant breaking of laws which appear good on paper but when not put in practice they simply don’t exist. This crisis has most serious dimensions since independence and is tending to put in danger the existence of the country- said Kambovski.
