The Criminal Court has extended the detention for the former Special Public Prosecutor Katica Janeva for another 30 days.
-The Criminal Council at the Basic Criminal Court in Skopje, acting upon the request of the Basic Public Prosecution to extend the detention determined by a decision from a Preliminary proceedings judge dated from 21.08.2019 has made a decision to extend the detention for another 20 days due on basis of article 165 paragraph 1 point 1 and 2 – states the press release issued by the Criminal Court.
They also state that regarding the lodged proposal by Janeva’s defense for abolishing the detention and ruling out a less severe measure for securing the presence with a guarantee submitted at a preliminary proceedings judge, this proposal was sent to a public prosecutor and upon the judge’s decision, the parties and the public will be additionally notified.
