Janeva: We have wasted 12 hours, UBK won’t give us access to the data

-

For 12 hours now, we have been inside the Administration of Security and Counterintelligence and we have made no progress, we do not have access to the documents for which we obtained a court order for, said Special Public Prosecutor Katica Janeva, who today, at 13:00 pm, spoke to the media from outside the Ministry of Interior.

“We are not leaving until we complete our court orders. I’ll be here all night, as long I can stand”, said Janeva.

She added that she was disappointed by the attitude of the UBK’s leadership, as well as that of the Director of the Public Security Bureau, Mitko Chavkov, who has been constantly present and hanging around the prosecutors and investigators, claiming he was there because he cared for the officers. Additional Deputy Minister, Oliver Andonov did not show up to greet the SPO team.

The Special Public Prosecutor said that they are organizing their team into groups, so they can work in shifts around the clock, and if necessary, they will stay until January the 1st, of the New Year, until they obtain the documents they have requested.

Prosecutor Lence Ristovska explained that yesterday they received an order from the Basic Court Skopje 1 allowing them to obtain all data concerning numbers that were marked by UBK and the SPO suspects that the systems are still inside the Administration.

“Our goal, is to see if everything for ourselves. Unfortunately, governing authorities say they have neither the technical nor human resources to grant us access into the systems for wire tapping”, said Ristovska.
