The Special Public Prosecutor, Katica Janeva in tonight’s interview on MTV revealed that they had been on the receiving end of subtle threats. She also said that apart from the wite-tapped conversations, the SPO has sufficient other evidence on cases being processed.
“For both indictments, there is enough evidence and we expect the court to act in accordance with the evidence, whatever follows will be decided according to the law. The public needs to believe that the indictments already submitted are based on facts and evidence”, Janeva stated
She once again urged Parliament to adopt the amendments to the Law on Witness Protection. Janeva also announced that she will be present when the second SPO report is put forward before the Council of Public Prosecutors and Parliament.
“I want, personally to present the report to the Council of Public Prosecutors and the Assembly so as to strengthen our co-operation, and first and foremost to press for the amendments to the Law regarding the protection of witnesses, as well as postponing the deadline for investigations.- Janeva said.
