Janeva: I don’t pursue people according to their names and positions but according to evidence

-

“I would be very happy if these people are innocent and if all charges against them are dropped. If someone has proof that I work against certain people or something similar, I dare him to say that publicly” said today the Public Prosecutor, Katica Janeva when she was asked to comment the findings from yesterday’s press conference by VMRO-DPMNE’s party leader Nikola Gruevski.

Janeva, who was attending an international conference in Tetovo said that she doesn’t pursue according to names and functions but according to evidence she has at her disposal.

Regarding the absence of charges against officials and members of DUI, Janeva said that there aren’t any charges but there are pre-trial procedures, saying that when it comes to listening to talks in Albanian language, she and other prosecutors are facing with a language barrier.

-We have a language barrier and the problem lies in that. We have translators who are translating and analyzing them (the wiretapped conversations), but I don’t know the Albanian language, and I want to understand and analyze these talks, normally, just like all the other prosecutors in this Public Prosecution – said Janeva.
