The President of the Republic of Macedonia, Gjorgi Ivanov will today address the nation, announced the President’s Cabinet.
In the statement, it does not imply what topic the President will be discussing at 18:45.
This will be the fourth time Ivanov addresses the nation in the last two and a half months. His first address was on April the 12th when he granted 56 pardons to politicians and their associates, and in the process, stopped all court proceedings against them. After the stormy reactions he received from the public at home and from the International Community, Ivanov again addressed the nation, this time on April the 15th, and said he sticks by his decision and he will not revoke the pardons. A month later, on May the 27th, he delivered his third public address and announced that he would be withdrawing part of the pardons he had granted various politicians.
He then withdrew all the pardons on June the 6th, however, he did so without addressing the nation, but through a press statement.
