I am following the debate on the proposed new legislative measures. It is necessary to listen to all parties and find the best solution all together. The autonomy of universities is constitutionally guaranteed category and must be respected – emphasized President Ivanov at the annual address at the Assembly.
He added that education is transformed everywhere in the world and if the state previously selected and determined the profiles of staff, now the market and business do the same thing. Ivanov emphasized that the concept of higher education is changing.
– Macedonia needs students and professors under high standards who would be recognized and competitive on the global knowledge market. It is impossible to forecast the future of Macedonia without successful transformation of education, because the future of the country depends on the quality of higher education, as it depends on the quality of the previous levels of education – said Ivanov.
In his address, the President spoke for admission to the European Union, as well as that the progress of the country depends not only on Macedonia, but of the blockade of our southern neighbor.
