Macedonian President Gjorge Ivanov handed the mandate for constituting the Government of the Republic of Macedonia to Emil Dimitriev.

Emil Dimitriev, the former Secretary General of VMRO-DPMNE, on Thursday was elected by the Executive Committee of VMRO-DPMNE as a candidate for Prime Minister for the transitional Government.

On Friday, Nikola Gruevski submitted his resignation to the President of Parliament Trajko Veljanoski, and today it was stated in the legislature.

Parliament is expected by tonight, with a simple majority to select the new Government, and Dimitriev as Prime Minister.
