President Gjorge Ivanov paid a working visit to Istanbul, Turkey today and met with the President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan .

The focus of the talks between the two presidents were bilateral relations and cooperation, with emphasis on issues related to security, the migrant crisis and economic relations.

At the meeting they agreed to strengthen contacts and cooperation between the security services in the area of prevention and the exchange of information in the fight against terrorism, as well as challenges related to the migrant crisis.

The two presidents agreed on the need for closer bilateral cooperation, but also cooperation through regional and multilateral mechanisms, and the extension of economic cooperation.
