President Gjorge Ivanov today denied more allegations and assertions from the official document released by the UBK (Administration for Security and Counter Intelligence) regarding the detention ruling for Kiril Bozinovski, and in the case of Mile Janakieski.
The president’s office says they are “appalled” and that there was no meeting, nor was there a request for one with Bozinovski and deny that a meeting was held with a mediator for Janakieski.
“The President of the Republic of Macedonia is being abused in an identical manner. The only difference in the content of the cited document is that in the first case it was a meeting with a mediator for Mile Janakieski, and in the second a meeting with mediator for Kiril Bozinovski. The Office of the President of the Republic of Macedonia publicly asks if the illegal interception of communications is using fictitious sources,” Ivanov’s office said, and called on the Ministry of Interior and the UBK to respond on what basis were the UBK monitoring the President of the Republic of Macedonia and his Office.
They went on to request the Parliamentary Oversight Committee for the UBK, the Council of Public Prosecutors, the Judicial Council and the Directorate for Classified Information to determine the responsibility for the whole case and to inform President Ivanov.
“The Office of the President of the Republic of Macedonia has not received a response to the requests made yesterday, to the Minister of Internal Affairs, to the Director of the UBK and to the President of the Basic Court Skopje 1, for the delivery of the official note of the Ministry of Interior-UBK, which is made up of false content and leads to the suspicion that the activities of the President of the Republic of Macedonia are being monitored and at the same time is being used as an argument to justify the detention measure of Mile Janakieski and Kiril Bozinovski, “the office said , adding that diplomatic representatives in the country had been made aware of the current situation.
