Ivanov and Putin meet in Moscow to discuss the situation in the Balkans

Today in Moscow, the President of Macedonia, Gjorge Ivanov will meet with the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, reports the cabinet of the Russian President.

“It is expected that the two leaders will discuss issues pertaining to further development of bilateral cooperation. They will also exchange opinions on current regional issues and, primarily, on the situation in the Balkans”, reads the statement from the official website of the Russian President.

During his working visit to Russia, yesterday at a ceremony held in the temple Christ the Savior” in Moscow, the Patriarch of the Russian Orthodox Church, Cyril, presented Ivanov with the Patriarch “Alexy II Award”, which was awarded to him in 2016 in recognition of his efforts in strengthening inter-Orthodox relations, the role of religion in society and establishing or strengthening the principles of religious tolerance.

Ivanov met with the Patriarch of the Russian Orthodox Church, Cyril and Bishop Tikhon, vicar of the Patriarch of Moscow and all of Russia
