On March 31st, the world celebrates the lives, resistance, and contributions of transgender people around the world. In Macedonia, TransFormA has been organizing the March of Visibility for seven years in a row. But this year, in honor of the victims of the tragedy in Kocani, the March has been replaced by public call for justice and solidarity.
“This is not an invisibility choice. On the contrary, our voice, our struggle, and our solidarity remain strong. But we do not want to walk the streets as if nothing had happened,” the organizers stressed. They warn about the marginalization, discrimination, and violence they face as a community, while we must not ignore the danger posed by conservative anti-gender movements that spread fear, misinformation, and hatred.
TransFormA calls for joint struggle for a society that will redognize transgender people as citizens with equal rights, emphasizing that trans rights are human rights.
