Pupils in Tetovo and Gostivar are traveling to schools using overcrowded vans that are driven by drivers without licenses, informs the Sector for Interior during its traffic controls.

-Yesterday, between 6 and 9 o’clock in Gostivar, police inspections were carried out on 35 vans used for public transportation. It was determined that nine of the vans were overcrowded, eight drivers didn’t have any medical confirmation, three didn’t have a driver’s license and one had a license for another vehicle category while two vans weren’t even registered. At the same time, it was determined that one of the drivers was found to be speeding above the permitted speed. The drivers were fined accordingly – said Marjan Josifovski SFI Tetovo’s spokesperson.

The inspections were carried out in the area of Tetovo, where 42 violations were determined including seven drivers without driver’s license, six unregistered vehicles, five technically faulty vehicles, and drivers – beginners that were driving without supervision. Police issued 23 penalties and 19 fines.
