Today at 12:30, Australian time, a Macedonian Church by the name of ‘St. Nicholas’ in the suburb of Melbourne, Preston, Australia, a fire broke out. The fire, luckily did not cause any injuries but has caused material damage to the Church, reports the “Falanga”.

The fire according to a member of the Fire Fighting Services, started that the fire had started from the electric metre in the church building.

The same moment the fire started, inside on the first floor monk Nikodim Solunchev who had been staying their, found salvation from the flames when he jumped out the window into the arms of several police officers who were there at that moment in time.
Fortunately the fire was extinguished and the damage caused to the Church will cost more than 100,000 dollars.
