If the protective measures are observed, the risk of infection with COVID-19 in buses or trains is minimal

-

The country’s public transportation is facing serious financial losses caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and, for a while, it has been pinpointed as a risky location where the coronavirus can spread among people. Towards the end of October, the Government managed to introduce a measure to limit the capacity of the passenger vehicles to up to 50% of their maximum capacity. Meta.mk contacted some of the transporters who stated that the coronavirus protective measures must be observed both by the passengers and the employees and in that case the risk of spreading the COVID-19 in public transportation would be minimal.

RNM’s Railroad Company-Transport informed Meta.mk that so far, none of its employees hasn’t been infected with COVID-19 at their job posts. The passenger trains are traversing the state on a daily basis and on every train, there have to be an engine driver and a conductor. The railroad company stated that they have no information that a patient got infected by using railway transportation.
