ISIS and extreme leftist militants are latest suspects for Ankara bombing

-

Turkish intelligence officials have failed so far to identify the perpetrators of the terrorist attack on the pro-Kurdish Peace march in Ankara, which killed nearly 100 people and injured twice as many.
The two blasts, which were caused by suicide bombers targeted the peace protest near the railway station in Ankara. According to the latest death toll, this is the deadliest attack in Turkey’s recent history.
The attack comes three weeks before parliamentary elections in the country and increases the tension further between state forces and Kurdish militants in the south-east of the country.
Turkish newspaper “Yeni Safak” said police managed to identify one of the bombers. Allegedly, it was a man aged between 25-30 years. So far no one has taken responsibility for the attack, which is considered an external attack on NATO-member Turkey.
Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, who declared three days of mourning, said the attack could be the work of Islamic State (ISIS) , Kurds or an extreme left-wing militant movement.
The Prime Ministers cabinet said that 52 of the dead were identified, and autopsies are still continuing. The statement said that 246 people were wounded and hospitalized, and 48 are in intensive care.
