Tomislav Salopek, the Croat who was abducted by Islamic State extremists in Egypt, has been executed, report Croatian media.
French news agency France Press tweeted the information, citing a report of the online news portal “SITE Intel Group.”
A photo containing disturbing imagery quickly spread on social media networks, in which appears the body of Salopek.
The information was confirmed for the Croatian paper Jutarnji List by the Egyptian newspaper Alyom Al Sabea.
The Croatian national TV reported they have not yet received an official confirmation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
