Howitt, Vajgl and Kukan will try to save the Przhino Agreement

-

Today the three MEPs Richard Howitt, Ivo Vajgl and Eduard Kukan, will attempt to help the ruling party and the opposition schedule a date for the upcoming elections.

They came to Skopje yesterday, and today will meet with the political parties who are signatories to the Przino Agreement. So far, there has been no information as to whether the MEPs will have a joint meeting including all the political parties.

The MEPs, together with European Commissioner for Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations, Johannes Hahn helped negotiate the Przino Agreement.

Yesterday, Ambassador Aivo Orav wrote on his “Twitter” account that today together with the three MEPs Howitt, Vajgl and Kukan will come to a final solution concerning the early parliamentary elections.

The US Ambassador to Macedonia, Jess Baily in an interview with “Kanal 5” said that he doesn’t believe that the Przhino Agreement is dead, but from tomorrow night the situation will get to the point of no return.

“The key question now, is to decide on a date for elections. It was the most critical question in the letter we sent to the interim Prime Minister. I am still convinced that the Przino Agreement is alive. That it is the path that will lead this country out of this crisis. There were moments when some people thought the Agreement was dead, but people sat down, discussed things, and always made a step forward, so I am an optimist, and I will remain optimistic, because that is how things get done”, said Baily.
