One day after the visit of the assistant of Secretary of State for Europe and Eurasia Victoria Nuland, who will come to Macedonia on Monday, European Commissioner for Enlargement Johannes Hahn will try to end the political crisis, confirmed European Commission spokeswoman Maja Kocijanchik for META.
As planned, Hahn will first hold separate, then joint meetings with the leaders of four political parties, Nikola Gruevski, Zoran Zaev, Menduh Thaci and Ali Ahmeti.
He will try to hammer out a final agreement for ending the political crisis, based on the agreed framework of 2nd of June, which provides for holding early parliamentary elections in April next year.
Hahn’s visit comes after tightening rhetoric from both political parties and abandoning the initial positions agreed in the agreement of 2nd of June.
