Head of the Macedonian diplomatic delegation, Foreign Minister Nikola Popovski, yesterday in Brussels met with EU Commissioner for Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations, Johannes Hahn, with whom he discussed the implementation of the Przhino Agreement, priority reforms in Macedonia, as well as the migrant crisis.
Minister Popovski and Commissioner Hahn, regarding the implementation of the Przhino Agreement, concluded that it is important to soon agree the composition of the State Election Commission (SEC) and to carry out the media law to sort out the media situation in Macedonia.
The Commissioner of the meeting expressed satisfaction with the developments in the Macedonian state and, as announced by the Foreign Ministry, said that the European Commission and the EU will give strong support to start negotiations for EU membership if priorities are implemented and elections go smoothly.
Minister Popovski and Commissioner Hahn, regarding the refugee crisis, concluded that improved communication with neighbouring countries of Macedonia would help and that this issue will have to be closed at the level of the European Union, of course, with their help.
