The meeting between Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski and Vice President Joe Biden has come to end, during the meeting they had discussed political dialogue, reforms, the economy and economic cooperation, as well as Macedonia’s membership in the EU and NATO.
“With Biden we had an excellent and friendly meeting. Since the last time we saw each other there have been many good things, but also there have bee many challenges. We talked about good things and challenges. America is our partner, we have signed a Declaration of Strategic Partnership and Cooperation in 2008 with the US and in many ways we have had serious support from the US in the past period. We discussed several topics at the meeting. We talked about the political agreement, reforms in a several spheres, the economy and economic cooperation, security challenges, but we also discussed Macedonia’s membership in NATO and the European Union. We will continue to cooperate in the future with America, especially concerning Macedonia’s entry into NATO and the EU, and their support in this regard will be very important to us in the future”, said Gruevski after the meeting.
Before his meeting with the Vice President, Prime Minister Gruevski met with Pete Sessions, who is the Chairman of the House Rules Committee, and Alan Bersin, Assistant Secretary for Homeland Security.
PM Gruevski and Mr Sessions welcomed the bilateral relations between Macedonia and the United States, stressing that commitment to personal involvement in their further deepening and improvement, and with Mr Bersin discussed possibilities for improvement of cooperation between the Republic of Macedonia and the United States in the field of safety and prevention security risks.
