Gruevski: We need 20 MP’s from the Diaspora

-

Starting talks on elections and electoral legislation, the Prime Minster today in Mogila in front of journalists, announced that he would like to have fair elections. That way, as Gruevski said, he will be open and support any idea. The Prime Minister, among others, stressed that the best model for voting was the majority model.

As for the Diaspora vote, Gruevski believes that they should be more represented in parliament with a stronger impact.

“ We want to keep the possibility for the diaspora to have representatives in parliament, I even think that there are far too little therefore we gave the idea to the working groups to change the model and instead of three MP’ from the diaspora to have have 20 MP’s. That is, instead of the current three districts with one seat, there should be a constituency with 20 MP’s, and the parties according to the votes they get, to get allocated their number of MP’s in their special constituency” , said Gruevski.

Gruevski in this context recalled that as a party they supported the SDSM proposal for per-registration of voters, noting that they were thinking about accepting and proposing electronic fingerprinting.

– Now we will insist on electronic fingerprinting because when we win the next election, we do not want the opposition to seek an alibi or accuse us of stealing, or stealing votes. There will be no space for the opposition to boycott.”, said Gruevski.
