The leaders of the four biggest political parties Nikola Gruevski, Zoran Zaev, Ali Ahmeti, and Menduh Taci, will not have a pre-election TV duel.
These TV duels between the leaders of VMRO-DPMNE, SDSM, DUI, and DPA were appointed at several TV stations but were canceled because, as announced by some of the leaders, of busyness.
The election duel between the leaders of the four biggest parties was set for tomorrow at the national broadcasting service, MRTV and at the Telma TV, but the event won’t happen. The political parties have received the invitations for a TV debate on time, but still, some of them have declined the invitation.
MRTV’s editor, Santa Argirova, said for ”Meta” that an invitation for a debate at the national service was declined by three out of four leaders. The only one who accepted the invitation was SDSM’s leader, Zoran Zaev.
-Due to busyness, the leaders of VMRO-DPMNE, DUI, DPA, – Nikola Gruevski, Ali Ahmeti, Menduh Taci had to decline the invitation. The only one who accepted was SDSM’s leader Zoran Zaev, so most likely on Thursday we shall have a brief interview with him – said Argirova.
Representatives of Telma TV have said that Gruevski has declined the invitation for a debate due to busyness.
-The invitation for a TV Duel was sent to both political parties of the Macedonian group. Zoran Zaev accepted the duel, but Nikola Gruevski declined because he was too busy. TV Telma is astonished how a leader of the ruling party for the past 10 years couldn’t have found the time for a TV duel and to come out for a public discussion – as was said to”Meta” by TV Telma’s manager and editor in chief, Atanas Kirovski.
Two weeks ago, ”Meta” had asked the VMRO-DPMNE’s center of communications manager, Ivo Kotevski whether the party leader Gruevski will respond to his opponent’s invitation, SDSM’s leader, and accept a TV duel. Kotevski responded that not everything that Zaev requests should be accepted.
