Gruevski: The session was closed because I did not want SDSM to cause any conflicts

Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski, after giving his testimony before members of the Inquiry Commission regarding the wire-tapping scandal, has admitted that he had requested the session to be closed because of classified information, but also, no to allow SDSM to make a theatres of his testimony at the Inquiry Commission.

“Today, I came on time to testify and answer all the questions from the members of the Inquiry Commission. I can say that I answered all questions and at one point they even ran out of questions. I also want to say that I was asked for the session to be closed to the public because SDSM are only capable of stirring situations up, and I didn’t want to give them the satisfaction or the means to do so. Everything I said in the session so far shared has already been shared with the public” said Nikola Gruevski.

In several questions by reporters he said he had already answered those questions and if they wished listen to them again, they should “rewind the tape”.

Also, Gruevski refused to comment on when he plans to step down as Prime Minister.

After the testimony of the Prime Minister, the committee chairman, Petre Shilegov gave a statement as did Antonio Miloshoski, representative of VMRO-DPMNE.

The Chairman of the Committee, Mr Shilegov said the session was funny, that Gruevski bombarded the committee, and that did not reveal any classified information. He added that the Prime Minister did not need a peaceful atmosphere to answer questions, but he only wanted to hide the truth from citizens, and that this was the reason for a closed session.

Mr Miloshoski said the Prime Minister answered all questions and that the meeting took place in a peaceful atmosphere.
