Gruevski felt threatened because a foreign service was tapping

Today, Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski, immediately after opposition leader Zoran Zaev, held a press conference to discuss the case “Puch” and answered journalists’ questions.

He said that he didn’t accept technical government under the pressure of SDSM leader Zoran Zaev.

– It was rumored that we have accepted a technical government. If so, why aren’t they back in the Assembly – said Gruevski.

He said that he had asked special investigative measures (PIM) for SDSM leader once reported him to the police and it was done according with an indictment.

Prime Minister noted that the espionage was conducted by high caliber professionals who were highly trained professionals for such actions and that Macedonia was the aim of tapping by foreign intelligence service.

– It was recorded by tactical equipment. Once Zoran Zaev sent threats to me, MOI hired foreign expert who demonstrated that an unknown perpetrator in Skopje is illegally recording conversations. The location of recording changed within a radius of about two kilometers, but it mainly took place in downtown Skopje, around state institutions – said Gruevski.

He added that the tapping equipment was often used in the period from 12 pm to 6 pm, indicating that the investigation into this is still ongoing.

– Macedonia was target of tapping by foreign service, and by the middle of 2014, these materials interested person Zoran Zaev, who first tried to use them to force a technical government. Direct perpetrators are arrested. Court proceedings will follow for the rest – Gruevski said at the press conference.

In terms of who recorded the telephone conversations, Gruevski said person Z.V. hired two people who helped in the recording of material for a monetary compensation.

– Both parties admitted the crime. Gj.V., who exercised a senior function in MOI, once faced with the sentences of the police and the prosecution for the crime, confessed and said that Z.V. hired Z.K., who was the most experienced engineer in MOI – stated Gruevski at today’s press conference and concluded that “this denies accusations that the government was behind the wiretaps.”
