The Republic of Macedonia has an interest to develop and deepen the relations with neighboring Bulgaria, since it of mutual interest the ongoing progress of this country’s Euro-Atlantic integrations – this was concluded during the meeting between the President of VMRO-DPMNE, Nikola Gruevski and the Ambassador of Bulgaria in Macedonia, Ivan Petkov.
VMRO-DPMNE informs that “the Bulgarian Ambassador Petkov has stressed that with the signing of the Agreement for good neighborly relations a very important issue will be closed and Macedonia will gain another partner and supporter in its efforts for a membership in EU and NATO.”
Gruevski has marked positively the will of Bulgaria to help in the accomplishment of these goals since they are also a priority for VMRO-DPMNE.
Gruevski has also stressed that “VMRO-DPMNE has worked diligently to even the stances of both countries for signing a fair agreement and due to the non-transparency of the current government that led the process, it has upset the general and expert public.
“As a party, VMRO-DPMNE has given several constructive proposals that if are put in the final version it would considerably improve the agreement and would serve as a clear indicator for the sincerity of both sides in the process of improvement of the relations” stressed Gruevski.
According to him, as soon as the party will have an insight into the final version of the agreement and after it will be analyzed by party commissions, VMRO-DPMNE will take a stance regarding the agreement.
