Between floods and “bomb” threats of SDSM leader Zoran Zaev, Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski today “suddenly” called representatives of the “Student plenum” to a meeting.
Just as suddenly, before midnight, the public learned that SONK ceases the strike which lasted two weeks. The rumors of whether teachers lost or won with the agreement that the leaders of the labor movement has achieved with the Minister of Education Abdilakim Ademi still haven’t stopped when an agreement between students and the Prime Minister was made.
It more than clear to all of us that there will be an agreement, regardless of the initial reactions of students and announcements from the office of the head of the Macedonian Government. Everybody knew that everyone who entered the office of Gruevski came out with an agreement, except, of course, Zaev. But that is another story.
After the offensive of the Government “to put in order” educational structures in the country, the dilemma of the need for action called “calm intelligence” is opened, with which the government will try with all its strength and with promises that might not be at its pleasure, to acquire peace of this elitist structure? Will this whole series (Kezharovski’s release, Vranishkovski, deal with SONK, UKIM and with the plenums) end and will it bring quiet streets and is it related to the operation “Puch”? What is the need of such speed and frequency? What should be prevented?
As it began, suddenly and quickly, and then even became a mass occupation of the streets, action for their calming was initiated just as suddenly and quickly.
After the announcement of the continuation of the dialogue with SONK, and today with the talks with students from “Student plenum”, it is not unexpected the freelancers to see the light of day as well. Especially after the announcement that they will protest next (“black”) Friday the 13th.
It is clear that it is not beneficial for Gruevski (at least currently) to have full streets. The government needs quiet streets. Gruevski is less able to manage multiple crises at once, so he started relativizing and solving them one by one.
