The former PM and current leader of the VMRO-DPMNE party, Nikola Gruevski, after being questioned at the Criminal Court in Skopje for approximately an hour, stated that he does not feel guilty, and added that he also expects future attempts of harassment and new court dates.
He said that the Special Public Prosecution’s actions and demands against him, are commissioned by his political opponent, who is aware that he does not have the support of the citizens and is trying to relativize matters with “absurd court subpoenas”.
“Today, I was summoned by the court because Katica Janeva expressed her suspicion that I am a flight risk and I will not show up for court dates. I don’t know if anyone in the country believes that, however, it is obvious that the SPO’s action are orders, probably from a client who has already made it clear that he does not recognise Macedonian courts. It is probably his wish, that I leave the country and not show up for court appearances, but that’s not what I am going to do, I won’t grant him his wish.We live in a time, where the man stated that he does not support Macedonian courts, or more precisely he does not recognize them, and he’s aware of his political rating. He’s aware that elections are coming and he can’t keep postponing them forever, and he is trying to keep some control over the people through the SPO, he is trying to relativize matters with absurd court subpoenas, lawsuits, and trying to present my colleagues and me as the same as him”, said Gruevski.
The leader of the ruling party did not want to comment or answer questions from journalists, once he made his statement, he left in a hurry claiming he had another event to go to.
Currently in the Criminal Court, the hearings go on, also to be questioned at the hearing is the Mayor of Gazi Baba, Toni Trajkovski.
Gruevski, Trajkovski and the former Minister of Transport and Communications, Mile Janakieski are all suspects in the “TNT” case, which is for the suspicious demolition of the “Kosmos” building , owned by businessman Fijat Canoski.
