“Early parliamentary elections are the best way out of the country’s political crisis. Today I am proud to announce that our country has decided to put an end to the political crisis and to progress boldly into the future. This begins with elections on April 24”, said Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski.
“Standing firm behind choices that were agreed upon by all parties in the Przhino Agreement is a reaffirmation of our faith in democracy. VMRO-DPMNE with the coalition ‘For a Better Macedonia’ today abandoned any comments they had regarding the methodology for the renewal of the electoral roll proposed by the SEC. The party and the coalition today fully accepted the proposed methodology whose implementation, as we were informed and Commissioner Hahn, has the capacity and time to do so”, said Nikola Gruevski.
Gruevski said that the two institutions most responsible for the conduct of the election process, are the SEC and the Ministry of Interior, which are in the hands of the SDSM.
“Many years from now, we can look back and say, ‘This was the day when the political crisis ended.’ Then we will be able to look back and say that on April 24 the people gave the mandate that took our country on the path to new prosperity, new jobs, higher wages, an international reputation and political stability”, said Gruevski.
