The days the expansion of the road from Kriva Palanka to Deve Bair border crossing will start. The Public Enterprise for State Roads has signed an agreement with Granit company from Skopje to build an additional 13 km that in return will provide a faster road connection between Macedonia and Bulgaria.
The project will encompass the building of a third lane along the whole road, a reconstruction of the current road and the building of 4 new bridges in order for the vehicles’ speed to be increased.
“Granit” company has a deadline of 24 months to implement the project so that the expanded road can be used by the end of 2021.
The Agreement for Reconstruction and Expansion of the road between Kriva Palanka and Deve Bair will cost 10.2 million euros informs the press release published by Granit at the Macedonian Stock Exchange’s webpage. The assets were provided by the Macedonian Government with a loan from the Macedonian Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
The road will be completely renewed and rebuilt by the end of 2021.
