The Governor of the National Bank, Dimitar Bogov appealed to political parties not to interfere with the banks in their political battles.
“Political pressures on banks is just unacceptable and incompatible with market economy. Considering that most of the banks are foreign-owned, political pressure on banks could have disastrous consequences on their perception of the business climate in Macedonia, and about their future plans. Commercial banks have complete freedom and the right to decide where to place their liquid assets in accordance with their business policy”,said Governor Bogov.
