Government to announce the cost of the referendum campaign on Wednesday

-

On Wednesday, it is to be announced how much the campaign for the upcoming referendum will cost. At the next government session, which according to announcements will be held on Wednesday, the amount that will be allocated for the campaign will be officially determined.

At the last session, the government obligated the ministries and state administration bodies to provide the Ministry of Finance with information on the funds that they have available, which could be redeemed for the referendum campaign.

The Ministry of Defense has already announced that it will allocate under 60 million denars for the campaign.

“The Ministry of Defense should be most interested in our strategic priority. From our financial department we have allocated a little less than 60 million denars, which were planned for similar activities, however, we think it will be put to better to use in Parliament, not us individually,” Defense Minister Radmila Sekerinska said on Saturday, adding that the amount for the campaign will be officially announced on Wednesday at a government session.

So far, other ministries have not publicly revealed how much money they will put towards the referendum campaign.

The decision to campaign for the upcoming referendum was taken at the last government session. The government announced that the campaign will be informative in order to share information of public interest about the content of the Agreement with Greece, the benefits of the integration of the Republic of Macedonia into NATO and the EU, and the plan for the country to move towards the Alliance and the Union.
