We are in constant communication with European officials, stated government spokesman Aleksandar Gjorgjiev for META news agency after European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker canceled the meeting with Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski which was to be held in Brussels on Thursday.
– We are in constant communication with representatives of the European institutions. Considering that only a few days ago Prime Minister Gruevski held a meeting with Commissioner Hahn, on which were extensively exchanged views and ideas for multiple themes and aspects, the two interlocutors mutually estimated that a larger room is needed before the meeting between Gruevski and Juncker in order to provide better and more comprehensive insight into the overall topic of that meeting – said Gjorgjiev.
Juncker’s spokeswoman Mina Andreeva today said that due to developments in the field, it was decided that “it is not favorable to have a meeting at the time.”
