From the 1st of July, households in North Macedonia will be able to sell their surplus electricity from the photovoltaics

-

Starting from the 1st of July, households and the companies in North Macedonia that are producing electricity from renewable sources of energy’s facilities will be able to sell their surplus production on the market. The Minister of Economy Kreshnik Bekteshi signed the amendments and the changes of the Rulebook for renewable sources of energy.

This means that the physical persons and the legal persons in the country will be allowed to produce electricity from renewable sources on the roofs of their homes, use the electricity they produced for their own needs and sell the surplus.

The universal power distributor “EVN Home” will be obliged to uptake this surplus electricity from the households and companies that will install photovoltaic power plants, and every 6 months EVN Home should compile additional invoice for counterbalancing their electricity bill or to pay the households or companies for the surplus electricity it has uptaken.
