We analyzed all measures from all ministries that are linked to air pollution in the previous year and all analyses indicate that only 30% of the measures were implemented. This was announced Ana Cholovik Lesheska of the Eko Svetst organization at today’s Regional conference devoted to air pollution.
The Deputy Minister for Environment, Jani Makraduli, stressed that the current government has talked for the first time about the air pollution even when there is no air pollution and that for the first time it is about the measures for preventing the pollution even when it is summer, not only when it is polluted.
“By 2017, nothing was done against pollution,” said Makraduli.
During the press conference, the hall was stormed by „Fridays for Future – Skopje“ activists, movement inspired by the 16 year old Swedish girl Greta Tunberg, wearing gas masks and holding banners with messages such as: Endlessly many conferences but accomplished urgent measures against the air pollution – 0″ and “They profit and we get poisoned”.
