France: Policewoman shot in front of Hollande’s residence

-

A person from a moving vehicle shot a policewoman in front of the residence of the French President Francois Hollande, French media report.

Last night, the car was moving in the wrong direction in the one-way street towards the Elysee Palace, and then the driver shot the policewoman, who was immediately hospitalized.

According to local media, there were four persons in the car, who immediately after the incident left the site, but two of them were later arrested. Police is still searching for the other two.

The incident took place at a time when France introduced high alert after last week’s terrorist attacks in Paris, in which 17 people were killed. It is unclear whether the latest incident is related to last week’s attacks.
