Excellent bilateral relations with Germany on political and financial level

President Stevo Pendarovski has met with the President of Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier in Berlin, as part of his official visit.

“During the meeting, both presidents exchanged opinions about the bilateral relations between the Republic of North Macedonia and Germany, the situation in the region, including the country’s aspirations for NATO and EU memberships. Both presidents have remarked that both countries have excellent bilateral relations, apart from the political sphere, it includes other areas such as defense and security, economy and education. In the previous year, Pendarovski stressed, both countries had a trade od 4.3 billion US dollars and in 2019 this amount is already surpassing one billion dollars, which positions Germany on top of North Macedonia’s trading partners” said the press release issued by President’s Cabinet.

President Steinmeier has confirmed Germany’s firm support for North Macedonia’s accession into the European Union and NATO.
