Even as an Acting President Mihajlova Can Still Continue with the Gruevski’s Prosecution

-

The election of Tatjana Mihajlova as an acting president of the Basic court Skopje I does not present an obstacle for her to continue with the trial on basis of the indictment by the Special Prosecutor’s Office (SPO) regarding the violence that escalated at the municipality of Centar on June 2013, a case where the first who were indicted are the VMRO-DPMNE’s party leader and former prime minister Nikola Gruevski and the former minister for transport and communications, Mile Janakieski.

“According to the regulations, the acting president can continue with the current cases that were given to work” as was announced to Meta by the Criminal court.

Representatives from the Criminal court also said that the acting president can be “exempted” from the current case or any other if the acting president asks that from the Pannel of Judges due to overbooked schedule.

Mihajlova was elected as an acting president of the Basic Court Skopje I at today’s session of the Pannel of Judges after Vladimir Panchevski’s mandate as president of the biggest and most important Criminal court in the state was over.
