The Special Public Prosecution plays a key role in this process, it needs constant support from all parties, reacted the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands after Parliament did not approve amendments requested by the SPO in the laws on Witness Protection and the SPO they did not receive support from the ruling majority.
“The Netherlands has always advocated for accountability as one of the basic preconditions for restoring trust in the political system of the country. The Special Public Prosecution plays a central role in this process and needs the continued support of all stakeholders to complete its mission unhindered, as it was agreed upon by the party leaders, for the benefit of Macedonia, its citizens and its future”, stated the embassy.
Earlier, the EU Delegation to Macedonia also reacted to the rejection of the amendments, and they called for all signatories of the Pržino Agreement to abide to their commitments and to support the work of the SPO.
